When watching downloaded files when the file is completely watched, the file is not marked as played.
The last 5 minutes (or so) is left as unwatched, even if the file is played until the end.
The file is deleted if the delete download option is set though.
Similar to this bug, but a different client
Just ot be clear you are playing the download all the way through, no stopping/pausing around that last 5 minutes? (just trying to reproduce). Were you online at the time?

This client log covers 2 files that were not marked as played, there was no pausing, the files were played completely to the end and the next file started with auto play. Both had 4 minutes left when viewed in the player client

This is from a different mac with Plex for Mac Version 1.41.0.2876-e960c9ca
The file is 22m01s in length and was played to the end without pausing.
In the log it does appear to report the file as fully played, although the client log does have an error when the file is completed

i have not been able to reproduce this yet with the last 5 min os so still saying unwatched. there is the issue of the unwatched triangle not going away but that will be fixed in 1.42 when the interface gets update to the one the current web app has.

one thing i did not do, which I am going to try in a bit is set the delete option after finishing episode but that afaik will only delete the downloaded file after 24hours so i can’t see how that would effect things
I agree, the delete thing is not a factor. It does seem to be affected by the size of the file, from what I have seen it leaves 10% of the file unplayed rounded to the nearest 2 minute mark, so for longer files ie
at 90% is when it should mark something as played since after that is usually just credits. so it is not saving that last bit when finished for you.
