I would like a real playlist import function, particularly for iTunes but also other common players and m3u builders.
The current iTune function is horrible and generally doesn’t work in most cases.
Life would be so much better if I could just export a list, have Plex import it… nothing fancy just match the song names and look them up in my dam library and add them to a Plex playlist. No fancy broken xml intergradation needed…
Even if there’s an one-time import function for playlists, this doesn’t keep them updated, so it’s always a bit tricky.
Any iTunes-related functionality is probably not high priority right now - the Mac version will get replaced next month by Music.app, the future of the Windows iTunes is uncertain, and the vast majority of the Plex Server installs are not on Macs to begin with, so even if they implement Music.app integration, that’s functionality that only really benefits one platform.
