Wonder if uninstalling an app doesn’t remove the cache? There’s leftovers when uninstalling Windows applications. Maybe same thing applies to Android. I’ve no idea. Just speculation.

Anyway, glad you have it working.

Will file “clear cache/storage” idea for next time something like this crops up.

Thanks for trying to help, I’ve been pulling my hair out, didn’t think it’d be this finicky, but oh it’s so worth it now, my library is growing and everything finally works.

Hello guys,it’s me again. I have another transcoding issue. My brother in law is streaming now and I already moved him from Plex for Windows to the Plex Media Player. Last night after making the switch his transcoding stopped and he had direct play going fine, watching game of Thrones MKV’s.

Tonight it’s transcoding from 1080p to 720p. I’ve captured logs but the tanscode reason is not straight forward. Any help as to why this is transcoding would be appreciated.

The only entry for MDE is MDE=1, what does that mean?

I think that chunk of the logs is too late, it doesn’t include the start or decision-making about why it was transcoded.

That’s significantly into the movie.

That would explain why the mde decision was never showing up. It was late and I didn’t want to bother the person watching.

Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll have to troubleshoot with him when he’s available.
