Please, please update the Xbox one app

The app on Xbox one is a total mess. There are no folders, and the sorting options are subpar. All I have is one big mess of hundreds of random episodes of TV shows. Please, bring the folder view to Xbox one. Without it I’m just randomly watching episodes.

I don’t know what you are seeing? (or not)

My opening screen I see on deck, recently added movies, and recently added television.

If i go into e.g. TV I get a Browse box, and on deck, recently aired tv, recently added tv, continue watching, start watching, rediscover, more from *(studio), Top rated, Recently viewed and more in *(genre)

The browse box sorts all by name plus about 10 other options!

For me it has the same/similar options as the Shield, apple tv and roku!

Enjoying Plex on the X1 myself, but noticing odd bugs like video freezing while audio continues. Have to load up Plex on my Mac to move the time marker to get it to unfreeze. Other random differences between the Mac and X1 version. Also bummed about Alexa! Hoping more things are in the pipeline.

It would be great to get an update to the Xbox One app to bring its features in line with other platforms! Hopefully this should be easier going forward now that we have a new UWP version of the app on Win 10. The single biggest thing I’m missing on the X1 version is the ability to filter TV shows by unwatched status (which is pretty annoying) and the fact that it’s just not as stable as on other platforms, and won’t play high bit rate files as reliably.

I use plex everyday on the Xbox and we do really need an update. Please do not neglect our userbase. With Kodi coming their will lots of competition on the Xbox for these types of services.

Agreed, the xbox app needs an update!

I have multiple different clients - plex on xbox to me is very similar to Shield/atv4/roku/windows/android/kodi addon

Update to what?
What do you want?
What are you comparing it too?

I just find it amusing how people critisize with no suggestions.
If xbox developers are reading this (although probably not) give them some information/suggestions.

What does that mean?
Speed, layout, formats, compatibilty, functions, remote?

And if you have the Samsung TV app and it’s so good - hey here is an idea…use it!!

Oh my god i’m so sorry i didn’t realise I was talking to someone so important, please accept my sincere apologies for not doing things the way you like - actually who the hell are you? - do you even work for Plex?

Also if you would notice - I wasn’t criticising, i was making a statement that I feel the Samsung App works better than the Xbox one app , since I paid for a lifetime subscription I am entitled to try out all the apps and thats what I am doing, if I wanted to only use the Samsung App I wouldn’t be browsing the Xbox One section would i?

Im not listing all the issues because:

1 - They are already spread around the forum
2 - The Samsung App is NOT developed by Plex so its not like they can just port the code over
3 - I honestly don’t believe Plex is that interested in doing any major updates in a timely fashion, based on previous experience

You still said nothing.
What do you want?

Bingo.

Plex is incapable of creating a decent device app for their great server - as is painfully demonstrated with each new disaster they vomit up for public use. They can’t even fix most of the apps they have regurgitated except for the Roku app - currently enjoying a lead developer that actually knows what he’s doing, but STILL Plex has him chained down unable to make any real changes in Plex’s disastrous overall design they seem really proud of.

What ya’ll should be praying for is a private developer that can make a wonderful Plex app for your device and pray that happens BEFORE Plex hires them. At that point Plex will require that individualism and creativity to be placed into a locked vault, loaded onto a boat, taken out to sea and dumped overboard.

That’s what I’m praying for with AFTV. The AFTV team is absolutely useless with regard to actually developing a Plex app for AFTV - which is kinda what the AFTV Team would be tasked with if there even was an AFTV team… clearly there is not. If someone could develop a great AFTV app privately Plex would scramble to hire them. Plex certainly doesn’t have anyone working over there now that has one single freakin’ clue.

BTW… notice to private developers:
The Plex User Base will pay you anything you want for your privately developed Plex app. Thousands of users are waiting, money in fist wanting to throw it at you. Financial Freedom awaits.

I had to google AFTV as had never seen it before…
And I though I was pretty knowledgable . Now I am :))
