After some head scratching I have identified a plex server crashing issue that is triggered when my wife performs a plex search on her Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and then clicks a TV show from search results. This issue is 100% repeatable. I reboot server (windows), plex server starts and then search for e.g. westworld in android app. Then click Westworld from search results and then boom the plex server crashes. The plex app stays as loading and then it eventually shows an error message saying lost connection to server, retry option.
I then need to reboot server as plex doesn’t crash nicely leaves spawned processes.
I’ve also now managed to trigger issue on my Nexus 6 and Nexus 7 when I perform a search and click TV show from results.
I’ve output the details from her phone, hopefully it helps track the issue down:
