Plex app 3.5.3 for iOS 7.1.1

I appreciate that development moves forward to be compatible with new hardware and operating systems but there are some of us with older but still capable hardware. I have three iPad 2 still running ios7.1.1 which I refuse to upgrade to iOS 8 due to documented performance degradation. I would dearly like to try the App for iOS but it only works on iOS 8 or later. I am new to Plex so never purchased v 3.5.5 and so cannot download it from the App Store. Is 3.5.5 available anywhere else or if not can anyone recommend another third party App which is compatible with iOS 7.1.1 and works with Plex media server? Many thanks Fozzie
