Plex app audio and playback issues

Issue:

After a couple of days the Plex app starts to get playback issues. After starting a movie or episode from my local NAS audio takes around 10 seconds to become audible. A few extra days extra the audio doesn’t become audible at all or the movie/episode doesn’t play at all.

The only quick and dirty fix is to force quit the app and clear the cache.

Checked with an alternate Plex client if the server is the issue, but the alternate client gives instant audio and no issues.
