App seems to have installed just fine, but when launched I get a pop up that says “App cant run on this PC. To find a version for your PC, check with software publisher”
It looks like I meet all the requirements for the app, so what am I missing? Working with a Dell Inspiron 570 and Windows 10.
What exact app did you (try to) install?
Plex for Windows
Windows 10 or later (64-bit Intel or AMD processors only)

From what I could find this can happen if you try to run a 64bit app on a 32bit Windows OS.

Open the
SettingsApp -
Go to
System>About -
What Windows
System Typeis reported there?
Looks like you’re right:
32-bit operating system, x64-based processor
I originally downloaded the 32 bit version, but when I launched the app, nothing happened.
Why don’t you install a 64Bit Windows on your 64Bit machine? As far as I can see there’s no 32bit version of the Plex desktop client apps.
Sorry, I’m confused. A lot of this stuff is over my head lol. Can I install something to make my computer a 64bit?
Heres the link for the 32 bit one I first tried:
Or is that the wrong download??
You cannot simply turn your PC into a 64-bit machine. However based on your previous post, Windows shows you’re currently running a 32-bit Windows on a 64-bit based processor…
While a 64-bit Windows is usually downward-compatible and can run 32-but applications, a 32-bit Windows won’t simply run 64-bit apps.
That’s the Plex Media Server which is still available as a 32-bit application. IIRC there’s some tests with a 64-bit version, but that’s unrelated to the Plex desktop client app.
