Plex Arcade controls not working on Apple TV 4th Gen

First time plex user. I have Plex Server installed on Mac Mini 2012 w High Sierra, got everything working I think. Atari Games library installed. Went over to Apple TV, installed Plex. Every single game I try will startup and looks great, but I can’t get any controls to work on my Apple TV remote or my Nimbus controller. If I just try and run the games in Chrome on the mac mini, same thing. Games will startup but keyboard controls don’t work.

You cannot play with the Apple Remote. Not sure what a Nimbus remote is but we’ve only tested using the Play Station DS4, XBox One and MFi controllers.

Nimbus are MFi controllers… I am having the same issue.

Odd. It doesn’t say that anywhere on their website, Nimbus+ | SteelSeries.

Either way, can you reproduce and get me logs from PMS.

I have a Playstation remote on Apple TV. The game comes up, but I see no way of starting it. It says insert a coin. No combination of buttons I try seems to get past the welcome screen. How do I stop my subscription?

You are correct that their site doesn’t mention MFI on it however their tech support and this Amazon listing header do confirm that the controllers are MFI. I can only launch the Atari games on AppleTV - 4K but cannot start or end games. The Nimbus shows it is connected via Bluetooth on AppleTV.

Help! Thanks. Snazz123

Can you try again and get me the Apple TV and PMS logs? Let me know what game you tried.

See attached. Most recently in these logs, I tried two games - Super Breakout and Millipede

Plex Media Server Logs_2021-01-31_13-46-01.zip (1.9 MB) AppleTV.logging.zip (100.0 KB)

Your logs indicate that the controls are being registered. Not sure why they don’t appear to work for you.

Apple even sells this controller in their stores (SteelSeries Nimbus+ Wireless Gaming Controller - Apple)

Any luck with getting this working?

No I never did get it working.

Thats unfortunate, games is a super nice feature but way too buggy. I killed my trial, I’d love it to work, but something like Provenance is still a far superior solution IMO until plex gets a ton of bugs fixed.
