Yes - next request for server update would be to authenticate locally, thereby not needing all login traffic to pass through internet.

Yes. Even if the server uptime can be kept to very close to 100% (you’d hope so), what if local internet connection goes down (less stable) but we still want to watch movies? Feature needed either way!
