Plex authentication server is down again!

One of My server just unclaimed itself!

Both my servers are unavailable!

My local servers!!

I’m logged in but can’t change to any other users at home managed user nor to my main Plex admin account!

So frustrating!

Get your ■■■■ together please!

It used to be that during this many downtime like this I could this play locally without authentication but not anymore when the server just unclaimed itself!

Same here. I would think this should fail to being able to still play all local stuff!

is down for all: https://status.plex.tv/#day

well, obviously i should have been paying attention before now but today I learned you need a live connection to plex.tv/api to even continue to watch stuff from my own library. crapped out in the middle of viewing something, and this appears to be why.

This is precisely why plex should never need an internet connection to work. It should always be useable on LAN. This is so stupid

Yes - next request for server update would be to authenticate locally, thereby not needing all login traffic to pass through internet.

Please fix

Down here. Any one know more?

yes, found that before i found the forum. it’s worse than slow though, it’s just failing completely.

All vote here, I’ve just put in a feature request…

and we’re back. still, loss of trust there.

It’s properly getting hammered by those trying to hack passwords!!!

Yes. Even if the server uptime can be kept to very close to 100% (you’d hope so), what if local internet connection goes down (less stable) but we still want to watch movies?

Feature needed either way!

not been using plex for long, this is the first time this happened. it was the last thing I checked. (Well of course, because then I stopped  ) but first it was: corrupt file? dead raid? dead internet? restart pms (hangs), try to reboot server (hangs) for a while, finally gets there. Still broken on restart. check logs (yes yes, should’ve done that much earlier but first I had to find them), see empty reply errors from plex.tv/api, finally look for a status page…

This doesn’t work when the server unclaimed itself and doesn’t recognize that the server and client is in fact in the same LAN.

I ALWAYS allow unauthenticated inside my LAN but this down time I can’t access my local Plex server. The only way to do it is via Plex web ssh tunnel. Who does that for watching on TV!?

Still down for me in Edmonton Canada.

Still issues here in the UK; I can connect again from plex.tv but all the secure connection side is broken so it thinks I don’t have any libraries. Yet connect to the server locally and it’s all fine but remote access keeps going down

Same here, resorted back to dependable kodi…
