Lately Ive added some new movies to watch, popular ones. 5 minutes before the end they mysteruiosly stop with the generic failed playback - errors message. Seems like plex is sabotaging after the last update [I’m a plex pass holder might add].
My reasoning, because the exact same movied play perfect with Embay, no playback issues.
Try doing an “analyze” on the video. I suspect that your server might have skipped this step. Movies that have no analysis on them can come up with strange errors, such as ending at exactly the 60 minute mark.
If that does not fix the playback, check the logs of the client and/or server logs around the time it quits to see if there is a message as to why it failed.
Plex is not sabotaging your videos. If they were, they’d do it well before the 10+ minute end credit sequence. 
I find it all too easy to believe that Plex would sabotage playback of some video content… After the way Plex killed my Dad.
Stupidity at its finest guy, get a life.
Will try, I think embay just has a better transcoder.
