So all this time I’ve been using my Android TV voice search for example : “Hunger game”
Google Assistant is smart enough to give a result of said movie with list of where I can watch it (Plex, Netflix, sling TV etc). Then I would choose Plex and it would open Plex, open the movie detail page and play the movie automatically.
But it doesn’t do it like that anymore on the latest Plex Android TV app.
In the recent Plex version it only open Plex app , and that’s it.
I’m guessing the latest Plex Android TV app broke deep linking search from external input such as search from Google Assistant. Instead of opening movie detail page and playing the movie, it gives up just until opening Plex app. I can verify that Google Assistant can still search within Plex app. Just that the linking part is broken.
Or Plex gets confused when the said movie is located in two or more servers I have access to. Instead of opening modal dialog UI for user to choose where he wants to play the movie from, like usual UI we get from Plex search, it just open Plex app and that’s it.
I hope this gets fixed.
