Running latest version of PMS and when i play back a video it only buffers one minute ahead. Even when paused this is still and issues i have this issue with Direct Play and with converting the video. I would imagine this is a default option but cannot see anywhere to change this? Any help would be appreciated
Got to the server settings under transcoder. You may need to hit “Show Advanced”. throttle buffer is shown in seconds.
That is the transcoder, that is not what i am talking about. Even if i change that to 320 seconds it will still on buffer one minute ahead.
given the small amount of information you have given. it’s hard to figure out where to start. If you know for sure the video is direct playing, then it’s more than likely NOT the server. Then you would have to look at the network and the device app.
What type of content are you playing?
What is your network setup?
and what device are you using?
Im unsure how you cant understand the question. When i play back videos it will not buffer ahead of the video more than one minute. Even when paused it doesnt buffer anymore than this, i have attached screenshots to help. This happens locally or remotely, I have only noticed this on the web application as you cannot view what has buffered on other devices.
So if there isn’t any issue with playing quality and if everything works seamlessly, then why do you need it? And if you feel the need to have that then put in as a request.
