I’ve just invited a friend on my plex so that my daughter can use it upstairs on her ps4. Trouble is I’ve accidentally logged into my account. Now no matter what I do plex on the ps4 automatically logs into my account.
I’ve deleted the app on the ps4. I’ve removed the device from my server. I’ve reinstalled the app on the ps4. Then when it gives you the option of “ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUT, LOG IN” it gives me the 4 digit pin which I input on my server and then logs me into my account again instead of the friend account.
This is very frustrating.
I can’t find any extra files to delete from the ps4 once I’ve uninstalled the app, but obviously the ps4 is saving these log in details somewhere.
I know other people have had issues similar to this but no one seems to have got a solution!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When you type in the 4-digit PIN, the account you are logged in at that point decides for the account on the respective device. So you need to log in your friends account and then enter the four-digit code.
The trouble is, nowhere does it give me the option to log into another account on the ps4 app. When I log out of my account it shows the web link to plex which isn’t selectable and the “already have an account, log in” option. Basically the ps4 seems to be permanently locked to my account. I just can’t find an option to login in with other account details.
Let me rephrase it:
Go to the PS4 -> choose “ALREADY HAVE AN ACCOUT, LOG IN” -> note the 4 digit code
Go to a computer/phone/tablet -> log into your friend’s account at plex.tv -> go to plex.tv/link -> enter the 4 digit code
Devices like the ps4 do not have any possibility to enter the account, so you don’t need to fiddle with logins and passwords.
Your mistake is probably that you enter the 4-digit code while you are logged in with your account.
Ok, lets see if I’ve got this right.
I’ve uninstalled Plex from the PS4, then installed it again. I’ve started plex on the PS4, selected “already have an account” and got my 4 digit code. I’ve gone to my PMS and logged out of my account. I’ve then logged in on my friends account. I’ve gone to www://plex.tv/link where I have entered the 4 digit code. the account was linked. I’ve gone back upstairs to the PS4, and it’s still logged in to my account not the friend account. I’m only trying to do this so that any crap my daughter watches doesn’t come up on my “ON DECK”. The app seems poorly designed at the moment for me.
