Maybe a control for Plex and also client... 

 

After 15 years without using any watch, i guess i will be using it again...

Nope...unless it'll have a size of a grandfather clock, cuz otherwise to small to be usefull, IMHO

Purely to control it, that might be handy but a video playing client is not something that sounds very usefull imo.

Maybe not really useful as a common client, but it will be awesome, wont it?

I agree with you that a Control App is maybe the first use case for apple watch, also browsing the library with the wheel...

We'll have to wait to see the capabilities of this new gadget.

for music it would be useful still and controlling other clients.

The Apple Watch would be awesome as a remote for Plex/HT. No more looking where you left that bloody IR remote anymore. The crown can serve as scroll and things like play/pause and volume control can appear on the screen.

I too was thinking exactly like this during the Apple event... How awesome would it be to extend Plex control to the Apple Watch (I still think iWatch every time lol)... for both voice and touch control... I'd do away with all my remotes and simply use this...

For podcasts and music, and possibly just audio from the news! Apple are introducing their podcast app in watchOS 5 update coming shortly. :call_me_hand:t3:

You mean watchOS 5.

I would also appreciate an Apple Watch app that extended playback on my iOS or tvOS devices much like the “Now Playing” app which will be available when iOS 12 is released. Preferably as a tvOS companion, but I’m unsure whether the Apple TV app will have a method of communicating and alerting the watch that it’s running.

These days, I often go out with just my Apple Watch and AirPods.
With the new API coming wth watchOS 5, it seems that it will finally be possible to stream Music and Podcasts with third party apps.

Without this, Plex is pretty much useless for music and podcasts…

I would use the plex app on my Apple Watch Series 4 to listen to music, audiobooks and podcasts. A nice complication added for the face would be ideal. I use plex daily for audiobooks.

Since the lte Version ist would lovely to listen my Plex music only with my Apple Watch at gym
