@Wiidesire Sure, but in-depth topics like that are more appropriate in the Plex Cloud section, no?Plex Pass General Discussion is for, well, general discussion of Plex Pass features that are subjects to change, including Plex Cloud.
if they are not in beta they do not have access to that section. they are just very curious. nothing wrong with that.

will everyone receive an invite to the plex cloud beta, or just a “few”?
please remember this is a beta. one of the reasons for it being in beta is to stress test things. to make sure it does not get overloaded. We add folks every couple days as long as there is no new issue putting it on hold. if there is an issue that could be exacerbated by adding more folks they wait till it is under control before adding more. there is no set time between adding batches of folks. each batch is generally larger than the last. ( i do not have exact number to share on batch sizes or when anyone will get in based their sign up date so please don’t ask)

a lot of services are on beta, many without limitation on the number of users having it. I understand that using third party (amazon) resources could give big problems in case something goes wrong. Will have to wait
I have a few questions for the rclone users here. I like rclone so far but i’m searching for an option to either schedule the upload (like everyday from 10pm to 10 am) or to throttle the upload speed to a specific rate.
Is this possible with rclone? I didn’t find anything on their webpage

What OS are you using?
rclone does not have any built in scheduling but you should be able to schedule it to run at an interval through your OS, like with CRONTAB on linux for example.
For limiting the bandwidth use the --bwlimit=SIZE option
–bwlimit=SIZE
Bandwidth limit in kBytes/s, or use suffix b|k|M|G. The default is 0 which means to not limit bandwidth. For example to limit bandwidth usage to 10 MBytes/s use --bwlimit 10M. This only limits the bandwidth of the data transfer, it doesn’t limit the bandwidth of the directory listings etc.

Is there a possibility to change my beta test request? I registered without an Amazon Cloud Drive, but has now signed up for one.
Honestly, I think every last person who filled out that survey without an Amazon drive has since signed up for it. After all, you can’t use the beta without it and I’m sure they know that.

And I’m equally sure that the applicants that did not register as Cloud Drive users are put in the bottom of the pile. Which is not a place where I want to be.

No, definitely not true, I had no Amazon drive at the time and selected accordingly, and I got in with the first batch. I also have a lifetime pass (another conspiracy theory I came across). You’re not at the bottom of any pile ![]()

I also have Liftetime pass, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed then. ![]()
Yeah I reported having amazon and I have a lifetime…still nothing…so not completely related to that

Same here. Has to be related to beta application time.
My body had never been so ready.
Same here. Still nothing. It’s frustrating, signed up the first day they anounced it. Been a PlexPass Lifetime subscriber for two years now.

Don’t worry, Plex Cloud is currently a very rough beta, you are not missing a lot at the moment. They will let in more as things calm down a bit. Currently I can’t get it to playback the majority of my content.
Seconded.
I have uploaded about 700 gigs of content. Streaming is currently very very slow. I assume the transcoding is slowing things down (just a guess though) as downloading a file straight from my Amazon cloud reaches download speeds of over 50 MB per second, so the server bandwidth is fast.
Anyway, as mentioned, it is beta.
If you still think it’s something you will want to use, it could still be worth starting the upload.
My full library will take another 50 days as per my calculations (slow upload speeds on my home internet sadly…)

If you can DIRECTPLAY your content on your client you will bypass the Plex Cloud server and stream straight from the Amazon Cloud, taking advantage of that 50MB/s

Except that even direct play does not work on my Roku or my Shield TV. It does work on my Fire TV and PMP on a computer.
I think those kind of issues are why it is beta. The initial alpha testing group did not include all. or even most, clients.
I’m just happy that I have a device that works. It took me a while to even figure that out because I almost always use my Roku and it did not occur to me that many of the problems I was having was Roku related. I had tested my Shield and, since I thought it played almost everything, I never tested my Fire. Just a few days ago I tested my Fire and it works very well.
This is beta and it is behaving as such.
And that’s why I wrote “If you CAN DIRECTPLAY”
