Plex Cloud - where does transcoding happen?

I was wondering if I set up Plex Cloud, then where does the actual transcoding occur?

I have a Plex server both at home and at my seedbox, but I can’t seem to figure out if they’re actually doing the processing.

For Plex Cloud nothing local does any processing at all. That is the entire server and all processing/support for it reside in the cloud.

As far as I know is transcoding made on plex Server itself.

Which, for Plex cloud is located in the cloud. No local server needed.

Yes, Sir.

Direct stream
Cloud (OneDrive, google) -> to your home

Transcoded
Cloud (OneDrive, google) -> Plex sever -> to your home

This is what I read so far…

In the Plex Cloud service, Plex is using the Microsoft Azure Cloud for its back-end PMS/transcoding. This is transparent to the user.

You can try it frist

Yes. It is completely separate from your local computer.

No. There is currently no way to ‘outsource’ just the transcoding.
