Plex continues to remove/adding genre tags and names on my movies?!

Hey!

For like a week ago I hade to change the path where local application data is stored because my C drive got full.

So my whole library with 1500+ movies and 78 TV-Series that I had spent LOADS of hours to setup with my own genrestags, titles to sort after and covers and stuff have disappeared (ofc).

So I have done this ■■■■ all over again and for some reason “tags” and “titles to sort after” continues to disappear from a lot of the movies? Not all but a lot of them.

And then plex adds the original tags and titles back?

Almost every time I check my added folders to my library they have disappeared to?
And When I press F5 they are back?

So why is this happening all over again after 3 months with no problems at all ?

I have set all the same settings that I used before I change the path where local application data is stored…

Now I have reinstalled and removed everything that has with PMS to do and this still happens

This is starting to get really frustrating so please support help me!

I would really appericate all the help I can get! Kind Regards, Mattias

You could have copied these data to the new location: Moving Metadata on Windows - #3 by OttoKerner

Where is the data folder now? On an external drive? On a network share (I hope not)?

I tried that but it didn’t work.
No I have it on my SSD drive

And it’s internal? Or on a USB-adapter?

How are the media stored? On internal drives, or… ?

It’s internal!

And the media is stored on 4 of this: WD My Book Duo V2 20TB

Since these are external, you absolutely must disable
Settings - Server - Library - “Empty trash automatically after every scan”

The same goes for
Setttings - Server - Scheduled Tasks

  • Update all libraries during maintenance
  • Refresh local metadata every three days

Disable those.

Okay I have done that now =)
