For the last couple months my Plex Media Server has started crashing a lot. I usually stream using app on my tablet or TV using Plex app, and it has been working fine for the last couple years but recently the Plex Media Server has started crashing a lot.
Symptom: On streaming device(s), it says it has lost connectivity with the server. When I jump on to my workstation that hosts the server, the Plex Media Server (32-bit) has disappeared from the task manager, it still sits in the system tray, but disappears after i move the mouse pointer over it.
I’ve to then relaunch the Plex Media Server app and everything works fine again until the next crash (which could be same day, next day or couple days later).

Same issue here for the past 2 months or so. W10 running the same server version 1.28.3.2156. Plex has been working for the pasy year or so with no issues. For the past 2 months or so, I have been attempting to add several new photo folders and I have been noticing the PMS has been crashing from the system tray, within minutes of begining the scans.
I been through all the forums, looked all over and there’s a bit of outdated advice which didn’t help. I recently deleted my enitre Local App data folder for plex (>12GB) and deleted the programme, cleaned the registry, rebooted, fresh install of Plex Media Server…and…the same issue, it crashes within minutes. I have even re-installed W10 and tried adding media from several different drives and locations - same issue, PMS server just crashes and dissapears from the system tray within minutes. I’ve given up trying to find a solution and was waiting for a software update to try and fix this.
