For some reason there is a bug where shows that have a few minute clip after the last commercial get cut off instead of the commercial. For example the Goldbergs end the last part of the show with some funny clip or backstory. Instead of playing those last two minutes with commercial removal on it only shows the commercial it should have cut out and cuts out the last two minutes of the actual show. Almost like its assuming the commercial will always be at the immediate end. Does anyone else have this problem and if so did you find a fix? Also if this is in the wrong place let me know.
I was noticing the same thing with MCEBuddy recently. So it seems to be a Comskip issue or how the network is broadcasting the last segment,I haven’t verified but perhaps the network logo is not present on that last clip so comskip is not seeing it as part of the show. I resolved my issue by changing the comskip.ini file. I added:
always_keep_last_seconds=120
to the end of the file. You can do the same thing using by following the Customizing How Commercials are Located and Removed section at the bottom of the Removing Commercials Support article. I actually started with 120 seconds but have since backed it off to just 30 seconds which seems to have kept the last part of the show. You might need to play around with the setting to get it to work as you desire.
I’m having the same issue. Maybe that ini line of code should become configurable within the DVR settings. But I already pad for 1 minute so I guess that’d be confusing.
