Agents of Shield last night has fairly abrupt commercial breaks, usually during action sequences. I noticed that the new commercial removal feature (which works perfect on other shows), was cutting both before the segment ended and starting 5-6 seconds late going into the show.
Will this feature be improved or could you add a feature to opt out for certain shows while leaving other ones on?

You can go to the Advanced Settings for the recording options for each show/movie and uncheck using comskip.
I have found that since 10. upgrade all my shows and movies have issues. Commercial removal is off both globally and on each recording. I found while doing my own video editing (trimming the start and end of movies and shows) that there was mins missing from the beginning of each recording, and that there are frames that are jumbled (out of order) in the move that causes the video editor to refuse to save the edited video. The movie.ts files are actually whats messed up. I’ve reverted back to Version 1.9.7.4460…
Update: After going back to the previous version 1.7.7.4460 everything is back to normal…

I just want to add to this that I’ve noticed this happening during the last episode of Brooklyn 99. Again, that show has quick format changes that may have confused com skip and it skipped ahead in the 3rd segment of the show.
Hey guys us a favor and post shows that cause comskip issues with accurate cuts.

Some of the Ninja’s and employees are testing some tweaks to comskip setting and it would be great to have some known troubling shows to test with besides the normal shows any of us would record.

I’ve ended up turning off the comskip because of missing parts of the show. I was testing mostly on old sitcoms. I have an 11-minute recording of Dick Van ■■■■ and a 17 and 19-minute episodes of Bewitched. I was wondering if the issue was they were older shows on the MeTV network and Antenna Network. I was afraid to try it on the newer shows that I haven’t seen.
Comskip seemed to work early on but now it tends to clip off the end of Simpsons and quit recording in the middle of Ghosted. I realize nothing has changed so I suspect that I am just experiencing the statistics of failure having recorded sufficient numbers of shows where I now see some failures/problems.

Prior to the beta update, I was using PlesComSkip.py to remove commercials, which I believe is basically the same thing as the beta update. I recorded a lot of Night Court on LAFF, and though it was mostly fine, I had an opposite issue. On some episodes it didn’t remove enough, and usually left in extremely long, mostly text Medicare type commercials. I would guess the style of commercials has something to do with it.
I also had the issue with Shield not recording well (at least the first jump, I switched to Hulu to watch the rest as there was audio sync issue on the Apple TV).

Same happened to me with Ghosted this week, missed the last segment of the show entirely.
