Plex Dash reporting Media Details Bitrate of 328kbps whereas WebUI reports 320kbps

Any idea why plex dash is reporting a bitrate of 328kbps …

Screenshot from 2024-01-07 19-47-46

… whereas plex web reports 320kbps for the same media ?

BTW… when the media is playing in plex dash its reported as 320kbps.

If you look at the XML for the track, I assume one is stream, and the other is part or media…

Nothing to worry about  And doing a media analyze might make it all match.

Let me check the xml when I’m back at my pc. Analysis should be complete and I also see this for all music media.

Just curious why it’s reported as that :joy:

At some point we tweaked the way we compute bitrate to exclude other assorted metadata…

Not seeing anything obvious in the xml. I guess its just a bug with how the bitrate is calculated on the dash app.

Huh that is slightly odd, @aubrey.wodonga might have an opinion.

I don’t think we’ve changed anything around that in Dash recently, though iirc we had a similar issue in Plexamp waaaaay back when. I’ll take a look into it and see what’s going on :slightly_smiling_face: it’s likely just something stupid and/or obvious.

Edit: the thing that changed is that we didn’t ever show media details for music, so this is a new-ish bug, for sure

Just remove the embedded album art, then re-analyze.

I’ve no embedded artwork. I always strip them out and store my artwork as cover.jpg in the same folder as the album.
