Hey,
I read in the blog that we will have an app, I guess something like Plex Dash. Where I could see who is on my Server.
So I wonder when this App goes live or in beta for testing?

Hi,
I already have the app installed since the beginning.
What I meant was that in the article it was mentioned that there will be an update to the app where we can see who is on the server in real-time. Means who is browsing the media library, for example.
As far as I understood it. Or maybe wish I understood it right.

See my post above. I edited it. But I am too slow with my mobile.

That is just referencing Plex Dash 3.0 as opposed to the 2.x currently out. Afaict “who is on your server” is just i think more details in Now Playing when something is actively being streamed from server and how it is being streamed. You won’t be able to see who is browsing. Folks might just leave the app open but not actually using it.

Thanks for clarifying. For me I would appreciate it to see or to get notified in the first place when someone connect to my server and beginning to browse. AFAIK you can see something close in the logs?
Means before playing something.
I have friends and my mum and sometimes they are just looking around but not playing anything. And if i don’t have the console open I would never notice that someone is connected or browsing the library.

So Iguess you,Plex. Can make this happen. Please!! :slight_smile:

What happens if you try the following:
First: Make sure you allow push notifications for Plex Dash on your phone.
On the Plex app go to Settings>Notifications. Under “Personal Media” tap on “Playback Started” and turn “Playback Started” to On

Do you get a push notification if someone starts a playback?

Hi,
In plex dash the notifications are blocked and I can’t activate it.
In the plex app the notifications are all enabled.
But what I meant was if someone accessing the Server and started browsing in the library. Then I would like to have a notification.

That would be awesome. So I could see who is just looking around.
In particular who is on which library and looking around.

Just wondering.
I totally get how this is interesting to you. I share that curiosity.
On the other hand… I suppose it’ll freak me out to know that someone is tracking my every move while browsing a friend’s server (especially knowing this is how the big streamers track your every move / click / look. That’s what stopped my curiosity.

I understand what you mean, but no matter what, at least I won’t be selling any data. Since they’re friends of mine, I know they don’t care if I know they’re on MY server.
