Yeah on that now, however its coursing the connection deadlocking that I was not experiencing in the build previous to it.
I thought I had finally solved and got rid of 5 months of deadlocks and anxiety for it to go bad in the space of one day due to the build that went out this morning
I have referred one set of your diagnostics to our development team - Plex Media Server-3.DMP and associated logs and connections list
I can see that we are getting 20 metadata requests at a time - possibly this is overloading the server and may be your database access is slow and needing a database optimize. I would suggest raising this with the developers of Overseerr to see if they can do some testing and may be reduce the load on the server and number of parallel requests
I also see it a hell of a lot from Xbox’s =, it has happed twice now tonight within 20 mins of each other and looking at the connections page right now its already building up to happen again, the thing is the only people using it are my Kids so its all local connections currently, but for example My sons Xbox has opened 20 connections to Direct Play a film, we have even just done a network reboot to try and fix
pmsl yeah would love to but Kids use them, I have asked them to start using Emby over Plex cos of this, I have had no problems with Emby at all stability wise Plex on the other had has been a utter nightmare for last 5 months
Yeah thats not been a issue for a while now, its clients namely Xbox Clients and Amazon Firesticks there’s are the ones that do the most damage in the last few builds
Another thing I have done is got rid of ALL my Android clients. Maybe this is the reason the issue hasn’t shown back up. The Android client is complete garbage.
Yeah I have just gone through all my old connections grabs and the ones that pop up 99% of the time is Xbox One, Fire Stick (Android) and I have one set with Apple TV (that client has not connected since) only in 2 sets do I see Tautulli and Petio (Overseer alternative).
So Basically this is telling me that the Android App and the Xbox App are part of the root problem, especially seen as they can easily open up 100 connections alone for a single Direct play file ( I know its direct play as I can see it in the GUI just before it gose bad).
I’m not sure it’s just Android Apps and Xbox apps. I have Roku clients right now that are opening up 20 connections just to direct play a movie. (Plex for Roku, 6.8.3.7132-9d030676d-Plex, Roku, 10.x, Roku 3, 4200X)
