Plex Desktop and Plex Media Player MacOS design change request

Hi all,

I have just updated to a brand new MacBook, so I installed the Plex desktop app, after years of using the Plex media player desktop app I have noticed a design change that is for quite simply idiotic.

My process flow goes is the following,

A quick ten min browse once a week to see what up and coming.

I go to my Live TV DVR, (4 DVB-T tuners installed)

Click on Browse, then select Movies and I am presented with a nice scrollable Poster set of what’s coming on all of the channels I have listed in my Plex.

Plex media Player desktop app. (clicking the centre of poster gives a record button)

Plex desktop app New. (clicking the centre of poster it gives a play button)

Obviously and common sense says it can’t play and throws up a “channel not available” because its an airing in the future.

Also to actually schedule a recording you have to click on the poster and enter the movie info and then there is a “record button”.

I use my Live Tv as a source of random movies I have no doubt seen before I record for casual viewing, probably most of the times I have seen a movie more than a handful of times and think “hey that’s on ill have that for next week or so”

The quick access record button feature on the “Plex Media Player” was perfect, as I have no need to click into the poster to see the details.

Can we look to see if this can changed like the old player, the change is a bit daft.

I know this is a simple thing, but a good GUI is what keep us coming back, I am currently installing the older version of the desktop app “Plex Media Player” as it works much better. I know it will give the update warning, but it did that over 2 years ago and I could still use it.

Cheers
