Updating Movie General, Tags, Poster, Background from TV App on Desktop

Perhaps I am just “lame,” but I don’t see this topic anywhere nor can I figure out how to do what I have always done on the desktop interface. I constantly have a need to update movie matches and the metadata associated with them. I also use the “Info” area to discover on what drive and inside what folder a movie file is resident. Being forced to use the TV interface, I cannot find the method to access those though it was simple with the desktop app. What am I missing? Thanks!

Change to the Desktop interface - for as long as you can - then change back.

IF/When you can no longer do that (may be now for all I know) - do something else. <—like run a Plexweb, minimized, to bring up when needed, for instance.

I do predict when/if the Desktop view disappears from PMP there will be a riot - join in.
You’ll have lots of company.

(^^The Hidden PMP Link - for those looking for it)

You could also try out the nascent Plex for Mac/Windows app. Although it’s been the subject of much derision, it’s actually a good player (wide codec support) if you don’t HTPC functionality and advanced audio support. It’s purely a desktop app:

Windows:
https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-desktop/1.6.3.1009-57cf57c8/windows/Plex-1.6.3.1009-57cf57c8-x86_64.exe

Mac:

… and I use it as such - rather handy actually as I can leave PMP to open and close on the TV - where it’s used. PfW opens on the desktop so it can be dragged to the second monitor if something needs watching here.

I can trigger any ‘audio enhancements’ via the somewhat excellent Windows Enhanced Audio Features (that may be a by-product of this big, hairy Graphics Card I have in my Gaming Rig) manually, while PMP’s instance of same is kept as it’s default, but sent to the TV through the HDMI cable with PMP steams.

Thanks, everybody! Still facing the no alphabet picker on my Samsung TV, but at least I know no one had a better idea than to return to the desktop app and I appreciate that very much.
