Plex & Drobo5N upgrade Question

Recently my Seagate NAS shot crap so I got the Drobo5N which i think is great & simpler NAS/RAID. Since the Drobo5N cant transcode video I use a dedicated computer to run Plex, Sab, Sonarr, PlexPy, etc… My question is should I mount the Drobo drives (Q:/PLEX) for better performance or not mount them as I have did in the past?

Computer specs:
AMD PRO A4-8350B R5, 6 Compute Cores 2C+4G. 3.50 GHz
16 GB RAM
C Drive is a Samsung SSD 850 EVO
D Drive is a Seagate 5TB
Using a D-Link 16-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch
Apple AirPort Extreme for Wi-Fi
Basic modem from TWC

Mount or not mount them!
How do you stream if you don’t mount them?

Fyi I have mounted a 5N and Synology nas’s and data transfer speed makes no difference and stream very well. And transcoding is not (or if it is, ever so slightly) effected by transfer speeds.

I didn’t mount the drives before but used my NAS for plex just as a connected Network drive, It worked fine for streaming but wasn’t sure if there was an advantage or disadvantage to mounting the drives or just letting it be. As you can see in the picture I have the Drobo mounted but before my NAS was just under Network
