TVDB has a NOVA episodes numbered wrong the Plex DVR isn’t recording new episode because it thinks it already has them. As an example the newest episode is “Eclipse Over America” on TVDB it’s numbered S44E18, PBS numbers it S44E11. S44e11 is even backed up by NOVA themselves in the thread on the TVDB forums and by the production code 4411. So as a heads up if you notice that shows aren’t recording it could be because TVDB has the numbering wrong.

@nokdim There is a post but the admin over there indicates that it is correct and they won’t be working on it.
Ultimately this is a TVDB issue just like pawn stars is all jacked up because some wannabe admin at TVDB has to exert his or her power online and mess things up for half the community.
Since TVDB is jacked compared to the guide that plex gets from gracenote your best option is to make sure you do not have upcoming episodes which I think is S44E12 or 13 on record so your DVR will see it missing and record it.
Doing this will cause the naming of episodes to get messed up but at least you will record the upcoming episode.
Or switch to a Usenet service as scene releases seem to follow TVDB which is not accurate but seems like it may not change.
I know who is to blame, I was hoping to gain traction here because it causes plex to get messed up. I was hoping we could put some pressure on the TVDB to fix it since this cause all sorts of issues in plex, especially with their DVR. A DVR that they put time, effort in money into.
I am not going to download a show when I have the means to do it with the DVR but can’t because they refuse to fix it.
This issue has been resolved over at the TVDB.
No wonder my matching for NOVA was wonky today. Titles and descriptions were good, but thumbnails were wrong. I has to manually fix them all.
Yeah seems a little wonky. It will get fixed over the next couple of days I would assume as sites update to the proper numbering.
