Just bought a lifetime Plex Pass. I was disappointed to learn that Plex DVR is not supported on the Amazon FireTV. Will there be any updates for the FireTV Plex app?
DVR is supported, Live TV is not.
I have to say, I see this question asked in these forums time after time, and I always think, “Aren’t these people reading the notices?”
But then I went to the Plex page about these features (https://www.plex.tv/features/live-tv-dvr/),
and the first thing it says, in clear text with not much around it to confuse you, is this:
"Join the cord cutting revolution! With a Plex Pass, you can now watch and record your favorite free HDTV digital broadcast channels, including local news and sports, on any device, anywhere in the world."
“…you can NOW watch and record…” “…on ANY DEVICE…”
This clearly isn’t true. I’d like to hear from Plex leadership ( @elan , @kinoCharlino ) how they justify this statement. Plex’s hyperbolic announcements have always been annoying as hell, but this one seems just downright deceptive. What’s up, Plex?

I’m willing to bet that when Live TV became available the guy in charge of the website just did a Find and Replace: Find “DVR” and Replace with “Live TV and DVR”.
Agreed… terribly worded.
Now that said… install HDHRviewer for live TV in Plex on your FireTV’s
