Hi, I just wondered how Plex DVR works… I am considering going premium, but do I need a TV card in my plex server? I can’t really do that as my Plex server is a VM with iSCSI attached storage. I run a pretty much complete virtual environment. Any suggestions on how to achieve this would be welcome.

Since the SiliconDust receivers are connected to your network, you can use them even in a virtualized server.

Be advised that Plex DVR is still in what Plex calls “Beta”
Loads of problems and unreliable behavior so far.
Not quite ready for Prime Time… and causes a lot of frustration and gray hair.
Yeah, I saw it was in Beta, I’ve now got my home run and recording series - mostly ok, had a little hiccup last night but rebooted and seems ok now.
