Plex Fails to Startup

I have version 1.28.2.6151 of Plex installed, and I try to start the server on Windows 7, 64-bit, but it states “Updating library… please wait…”,. and then it looks like it’ll load up as I see in my quickstart area in the bottom right (not the other one with the Windows logo), and when I click on that, it just disappears.

The Server is not available at any point, even with the icon shown and before it disappears after trying to click on it.

I have uploaded the latest log in the folder.

Plex Media Server.log (30.5 KB)

I am not certain what is wrong. I tried installing a previous version and clicked on the “Repair” option for it, but that did not work. I do not want to remove and re-install things completely, as I will lose unique posters and organization for a lot of files.

It looks like you have a corrupt database

There are steps in that article for you to make repairs without setting your server back to an original state

Thanks for the response. I see .db files by date, but not all have the “blobs” associated with them, are they supposed to?

You mean like that?

I’m having the same issue, but when I try to repair the .db files in SQLite I get errors that it can’t write to a read-only database (and the files are definitely not read-only).

Yes… the 4 regular files are all from July 2020, and the 4 “blobs” files are from August and September of this year.

So would having different dates on the files be an issue? I would like to get this issue resolved and get my server going again. Thanks.

Yeah, having different dates is a problem. It looks like you have had ongoing corruption for a long time. Make sure that Plex is completely closed, (check the task manager too) before attempting the repairs.
