My fam and I use Plex every day but for weeks now I can’t get it to start. The Plex Media Server on my Mac mini just blips on the screen then is gone again.
I tried deleting it and re-installing it but it just does the same thing. I simply can’t get it to start.
I’ve had someone trying to help me (I’m not super tech savvy) and he’s gone over the logs and thinks this is the problem:
“Looks like database corruption. I parsed all of your logs and the only “interesting” lines I found were related to sqlite. I have attached an image of my output file obtained by searching for keywords in a script.”
He linked to this file:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database/?fbclid=IwAR34HEsF3HrkUq1MbNip-UerBRuJ0bRnsyMdUzmcb8leW_s25LESWNrCqdk
He suggested I delete the library file but I can’t find any file that has both Plex and Library in the name.
PLEASE HELP! I need Plex back!
He sent me that pic of where he thought he found that problem.
If it’s sqlite is there a backup saved somewhere that I could use to re-initialize somehow? Thanks a bunch

In the file folder you should have ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server//Plug-in Support/Databases
there should be files like:
com.plexapp.dlna.db
com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db
com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db-2022-06-18
com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db-2022-06-21
com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db-2022-06-24
com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db-shm
com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db-wal
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-2022-06-18
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-2022-06-21
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-2022-06-24
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-shm
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-wal
To play it safe I would backup the entire folder, close plex delete com.plexapp.plugins.library.db and com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db and then rename the two files ending in db-2022-06-18 to .db and try to re-launch plex and see if that works
It worked!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
If you were here I’d hug you. Thanks again!
