Long time Plex user…been using Plex Media Player on an HTPC for years but HTPC died. Now running OSMC on a Raspberry Pi.
The right arrow should forward the video ahead 30 seconds and left rewinds by 10 seconds. This works instantly on PMP.
On the Plex Add on, the arrow keys bring up the media controls. The arrow keys work (kind of) but you must also hit return. I had hoped the arrow keys just “do it” like on PMP.
Why is the UI so different? I can see the UI being different on a mobile device but not in this case?
One of the things that is frustrating about Plex are the different UIs across players. I really liked PMP.
Moved to Android TV but Plex is really bad on Android TV. So moved to Kodi, better, but still not as good as PMP.
and then installed via zip. Not seeing any difference.
I think I am not really installing the development version. Does this version sit in a repo anyplace? Or what is the best way to try it and get it on my Pi?
I just used the development version last night @ZackTex so I know it works as expected. Its been a long time since Ive used a Pi but could you not download the development branch as a ZIP file then push it onto the Pi in some way?
Also before you do that double check the settings for this add-on on the Kodi side of things (the add-on settings). If you dont have a bunch of extra setting to choose from (skip interval - Use Kodi step setting etc) then you definitely have the wrong version.
Can you please explain how to install this Plex for Kodi development version? I have the master installed and doesn’t work well so downloaded the zip development version but now I have no idea how to tell Kodi to install it because I don’t know how to get Kodi to even “see it” on my Fire Stick plugged into my Samsung TV… any advice much appreciated
