Just wanted to add my vote here. I just switched from Apple TV 4K to Firestick 4K, mostly for ideological reason. I was perfectly happy with Apple TV 4K app as it was direct playing everything. The problem I am facing now is, all my DVR recording (.ts with default subtitle recording; I haven’t done any fancy thing there) now requires transcoding as soon as I click the “cc” button. Very frustrating 
Any solution (other than installing 7.10) or timeline for fix? I will give 7.10 a try but I would prefer an up to date player that gets updated from Amazon app store automatically.
