Firstly for Audiobooks, Both @McWanke and I have started to dig in with users over in Support for audiobooks - #1035 by chrisallen to figure out what users want to see. We are now working to see where we can get this into our Personal Media roadmap!
As for Ebooks, although it’s an intriguing idea, I can confirm that we are not currently working on this as a feature (in an existing client) or as a dedicated client, nor do we have plans on our current roadmap.
Lastly, as for multiple-edition support It wasn’t clear from your question what the shortcomings were, or what was missing from how it works today. I asked internally and it looks like there is some known short comings, specifically around view-state sync for “editions” of movies.
