Plex Folder/Files getting out of hand compared to database/contents

Server Version#: 1.29.2.6364
Player Version#: N/A

So been doing some overall data cleaning as we’re finishing up the year and I also took a look at our Plex server’s space utilization and was very surprised to see that the “Plex Server” library on the Windows Server is currently using some 86.1 GB in some 110.000 files, while a downloaded copy of the data only takes up some 70 MB, I get that there is metadata stored in the plex service library, but this seems extremely excessive for an install of our size (some 400 movies and about 40 TV shows + about 150 sports events, some with many episodes like Jeopardy currently has some 700 episodes) to have such a bloated server library or?

Currently running this thing on a 256 nVME drive with 2 x DAS (8+12 TB( and a dedicated transcoding SSD, the primary drive is down to some 80 GB free space which is running a tad too close to run feature upgrades of Windows, so either I have to find a way to lower the space usage of the Plex Server folder or I have to move the database to a new drive which is a tad of a pain still (look for this to be introduced Plex from the interface btw!)
