Plex for LG is playing first available episode of TV Shows instead of first unwatched episode

I normally watch TV shows by selecting the “TV Shows” library and have the Unwatched filter set so that I have a list of shows with unwatched episodes. I select the show I want to watch which takes me to that shows page which displays the correct “On Deck” season and episode information. The Play button is displayed as “Next Episode”.

Normally, click “Next Episode” would play the first unwatched episode.

Starting a couple of days ago, clicking “Next Episode” plays the first available episode of the show instead of the first unwatched episode.

This is happening across all tv shows.

I have tried resetting the plex app on the TV, deleting the plex app and reinstalling, and resetting the TV to factory defaults and reinstalling the plex app.

Plex works as expected, playing the first unwatched episode, on my Roku TVs, Samsung phone and tablet, and Mac computers.

Update: As of Apr 28, the Plex for LG client is no longer displaying this behavior. TV shows are now playing the correct episode when selecting “Next Episode” or “Resume”. The only change I have made is updating the Plex Media Server to the latest version “1.32.0.6973”.

I have same problem also starting a few days ago on my Tizen Samsung TV. How do we report a bug to Plex?

I hate to do it, but “me too”; however my PMS was a bit behind at 1.30.2.6563-6000, so looks like it could be a client issue rather than a PMS issue.

The only way to report a bug to Plex is posting in the forums.

Is there any update? what’s the point of paying for premium features and the basic ones are not even working

Upgrading Plex Media Server to the latest version “1.32.0.6973” appears to have fixed the issue for me.
