My girlfriend just got me a Nintendo Switch as an early Christmas present.
Now I know that there are alot of Plex users who would love Plex to be on the Switch but I also know that Nintendo haven’t opened up app development, and now the Switch is 4 years old I can’t see them doing it now.
Would it be possible to create a Plex game cartridge? I think Switch games have to be made with Unity.
Just a thought, I have no idea what I’m talking about…

It’s sad really that companies are bringing out new products that are only 1/2 of what they could be. They don’t do anything for the consumers now; it’s just all about money!
I was hoping some of the Plex genius’ could just code a Plex Game Card cartridge…
Yes it’s too bad. I would have thought one could have a streamer/downloader Plex app. By game card, is that something people would have to go homegrown, with gray/black market tools? Didn’t know there was an ecosystem for that for the Switch. Had things like that for game boy color and Nintendo ds ages ago.
I’m just theorising really. Like you said on Nintendo DS they had R4 cards.
Similar to that; surely someone could ‘wipe’ a Nintendo Switch Game Card and install a Plex client on it (along those lines)
lots of folks would love plex on switch, but that would be up to nintendo to allow it.

My Switch would get more use if it was available. Without having to hack Android into it of course. Keeping the thread alive for Nintendo’s sake maybe?
