Apologies if this is a slightly different issue. I’m still having problems with 5.1 TrueHD files failing to transcode on my Apple TV, LG OLED and Safari. The movie never starts and I get a transcode error. 7.1 TrueHD is ok strangely enough. Rolling back to 1.29.2 doesn’t work either.
If I remux one of the 5.1 TrueHD files and convert the audio to AC3 then it works with direct play.
The transcode error seems to be similar to OP

There is space on the device and shouldn’t be any permissions issues. I’ve tried the inotify fix. The file works in Emby (transcodes to AC3 instead of FLAC). I’ve tried in Plex on multiple devices as mentioned above. I also tried deleting the Codecs folder and reinstalling Plex. I seen this suggested elsewhere for this error.

As you can see they are the same except for the audio track so it seems to be something with the 5.1 TrueHD track or how it is handled. Logs attached. Any suggestions would be great.

I am getting similar issue when converting one particular file - it looks like plex transcoder is leaking memory - what is 7GB on the screenshot gets up to 28GB, drops and repeats.
There is plenty of space on the SSDs and the system is Win 11 with 32GB RAM, i9-9900x, RTX 3080 Ti,
Plex Server is version 1.31.0.6654.
The console log is full of such messages:

I saw that the release notes for Plex Version 1.30.2.6563 indicated:
“(Transcoder) Decoding certain TrueHD audio streams could fail (#14023)”.
I downloaded this version (Ubuntu) and confirmed that it resolved my issue. Hardware transcoding using an Nvidia GPU works properly. Thanks, @ChuckPa!!!
I know I’m late, but I’m running version 1.31.1.6716-ca0c45ff8_amd64.deb and my issues appear to be fixed too. Thanks Plex team!
