Server Version#: 1.41.0.8994
Please help!
I have my Plex Server (version 1.41.0.8994) on a Windows 11-based Intel i3 10105 with no discrete GPU. All media is stored on a DAS populated with 14tb HDDs, connected via USB 3.1 to the PC.
My Plex Client is an Apple TV 4K running Infuse Pro (latest update) and outputting to a Samsung QN90C. Communication between Server and Client is currently via WiFi 6E with excellent signal and no competing bandwidth demands although my issue replicates when connected by ethernet also.
If playing a high bitrate mkv file, and I pause and unpause whilst watching, the playback hangs indefinitely and frequently Plex will not recommence playback unless I restart the PC with Plex Server on. If I try and scan forwards or backwards whilst playing the high bitrate MKV videos, then the playback becomes a stuttery mess of about 1 frame per second, which cannot be remedied unless I quit out of watching the video and go back to the main menu on my client.
It must be my Plex Server and not my client as when the issue occurs, no restarting or resetting of my client has any effect at all, only the restarting of my Plex Server program/PC.
The only common denominator that I have discovered so far is that this only happens with ‘high’ bitrate video MKV - typically in excess of 40mbps. Most of my content is in excess of 50mbps, so this makes for an extremely annoying and immersion-breaking bug that I would be very grateful for any suggestions on the cause or how I could eliminate it, please?
