You really want to go back to ID3v2.3 and UTF-16
ID3v2.4 is incompatible with so many things.
Apart from that I cannot see anything wrong with it.
You might wanna switch to simple numbers for track and disc numbers, not x/y.
LOL - I can switch the format, but so far it’s always worked with Plex. Depends on which google link you click on to get the best advice for that.
As for the simple numbers, since I’m trying my best to get matches with MusicBrainz, hopefully to get better matches automatically with Plex, Picard automatically adds the “/” for discs and tracks.
In any event, I gather you’re saying I’ve found a Plex Dance situation, or at best, a “merge” to fix it up, right?
‘Merge’ should work fine.
It’s been mentioned a few times that the guid has to be set to “plex” to get an album match.
One of my previously unmatched albums now appears to be matched after adding it to MB (a 45 RPM release, if that matters) but the guid for the track and album are now mbid

I’m not overly concerned as it looks like the album is matched, just curious. Is the album really matched properly with the alternate mbid guid ?
What did you do in Plex, after you added the records to MB?
Just a library update or Fix Match or…?
I hear, the mbid’s are supposed to get replaced by plex://album and plex://track upon next refresh.
It was a day or two ago. I think I just refreshed the album. but it may have been fix match. It still has the different guid of mbid after a refresh of the album an hour or so ago, as well as a manual match to the MB release. Maybe it will get all sorted out on a maintenance run one night. Thanks, again.
Try again, but this time refreshing the artist.
Activate debug logging beforehand, a fetch server logs 3 minutes afterwards.
