I run a Plex server from my home and I shared it with my cousin in a different town. She has no problem accessing the libraries and plays them without any issue but, they have a couple kids(ages 4 and 9) that they do not want to see some of the more “mature” tv shows and movies I have. She is able to add a “Kids” Home User as a Managed Account but, when they switch users, none of my libraries show up. I know if I added a “Kids” account on my server, the libraries show up. Is their a way she can add a managed account for here home that will allow access to my libraries with the restrictions without having to make up another Plex account and keep signing in and out all the time because they can not afford the Plex Pass?
I’m sorry there is not. Only the home admin can give access to their own server libraries to their managed accounts.
That sucks ![]()
I would be great if they can add that so a Plex account can add home users with restrictions on the libraries they themselves have access to(local or remote). That was they can restrict access to materials so that a 4 year old doesn’t watch Jackass with the parents knowing lol.
What if the other person makes a Plex Home, creates accounts for their kids (who are invited as friends to the OP’s server with restrictions), then adds these kids accounts to the cousin’s Plex Home? It would allow fast switching between accounts just like managed users, but also might be capable of having what items are shared with them by the OP’s server.
That isn’t possible. only a home admin can from servers they admin grant access to managed accounts in their home.
