It is unofficial and it doesn’t work very well just yet.
But I don’t trust that “We will” will be any time soon (sorry, but that’s how it always goes), so if I can make it work I will.
Also, you are welcome to create your own rendition of flatpaks (regardless of release dates of the official ones), but please do not use the tv.plex reverse domain for the ID because it will clash with the official packages.
You are doing this quicker than I expected, I’ll give you that…
It won’t cause conflicts, as this is not published on fluthub, and not visible unless you knowingly add my repository.
But, I’ll remove the repositories later.
It causes conflicts and confusion if someone tries to install both (for example, the official one from flathub and yours from some other source). It is also not a domain that you control which I believe is a requirement for flatpak IDs. So please, just change it, no harm in using something else (this is very common for unofficial packages).
I removed them as I’m not trying to be difficult, but I hope you understand that you can’t control how many unofficial repositories there are out there, and you can’t control what people call their apps, and you can’t control who uses those unofficial apps from unofficial repos.
Said so, it’s all gone.
I’ll gladly use the official package since it’s available.
You are completely misunderstanding what I asked you. We have no problems with unofficial packages, you don’t need to shut down your project. I only asked you to use a flatpak ID that’s different from tv.plex.XYZ because that is what the official IDs are going to be for these and any future flatpaks. It is in the best interest of users to be able to tell if a package is an official one or not. And yes, we have no control over what IDs people use, that is why I asked you to please use something else for the ID.
