Have server with quadro k620 afapter. Plan on using it for hw trnascode.
Also has onboard video… can i plus monitor into onboard?? Or do i need to llus into k620
Also… mb has qsv. Will llex figure out to use k620 automatically?
Verify Nvidia supports your card in their drivers and what the card can do.
If both devices are detected, you can direct PMS to a specific device.

Ok… installed quadro k620…
Ran some movies… still more testing to do… but my old eyes cant tell difference in quality. That is good.
Looked at transcode stas log and see it listing nvidia… so looks like it is using card. Also dashboad shows hw transcode

If a third session starts it will roll over to lrocessor transcode. True?
I have read about a patch that allos more than 2… how do i find out what cards supported.

I assume encode is when plex media server used to create versions of mkv with different optimizations?
1 NVDEC / 3 NVENC is the official support. Not sure if you can patch to unrestricted with a Maxwell GPU

Not sure how he gets his numbers. I am basing my answer off of what Nvidia officially lists–which is 1 decode session and 3 encodes sessions.

Quadro P2000 and above are unrestricted. If you patch the drivers for your card, the restriction should be lifted.

I think the trnascode website i sent you is just to estimate how much your card can handle without choking
Will continue to test but happy woth it so far. No onvious degradation in quality
