Can you expand on what the 22nd means for AMD users? Iā€™m also a tvs-673 user, and confused by the recent posts and where support stands for HW transcoding. Are all the pieces already there except for Plex or are we still waiting on linux or other drivers still? Thanks.

There is nothing updated on HW Transcoding.

I do know the team is tackling a couple of HW bugs they want finished / fixed in the next release.

I have a post asking about the tvs 473 should I stil get this being a amd or should I look for something different with wanting to transcode to iPhone/table just looking to spend about Ā£1000 no hdds

I have a TVS-673 and it does a decent job for transcoding for iPad/iPhone. A lot of it will depend the source media files (especially bitrate) and for remote access, your ISP upload speed.

I can confirm that even on my puny TS-251 I can now HW transcode 720p and many 1080p files with Plex. I needed to uninstall the QNAP CodecPack, and of course run the latest PMS.

Yes. There has been one update and another is scheduled.

Currently, the build system preview is occurring.
When itā€™s done, the next step (transcoder) swing into gear.
Itā€™s mayhem to do two things at once.

I read this thread with interest, as I have a TVS-673. Iā€™m streaming 4K HDR content to my LG OLED TV from my PMS. It works well. When I stream the same HDR movie to a Full HD Samsung TV the CPU usage of the TVS-673 goes to 95%, and the PMS Plex transcoder process is using most of that, so itā€™s using software transcoding.
Is there still a Beta available for hardware transcoding on the TVS-673?

PMS 1.17.0 now contains the anticipated update.

Just downloaded the latest PMS for the TVS 873 and still no dice on the HW Transcodingā€¦ Is that still in beta?

Logfiles please? (Debug ON, Verbose OFF, Recreate the playback attempt, stop, gather logs and then attach the ZIP please)
