I have 4 synology servers running plex for several years. Not sure if this is a plex or synology problem but I recently updated all my servers to the latest plex version and now none of the plex icons show up when I log in to my synology server. I can still get to plex but not by clicking on the now missing icons. Happened to all 4 servers at the same time after upgrading to newest plex version. Any advice or others seeing the same problem?
Nope not available in the application menu. Have had plex since the beginning and have never had this problem. luckily I can still access server but miss the icon. Oh well. Since it’s happening on all 4 server others must be having the same problem.

The admin/administrators control visibility.
This is the same mechanism DSM uses with applications like FTP.
You also have the ability to make PMS available to everyone by default.

If that doesn’t resolve it for you, restart DSM
There is some deviation between the different DSM versions
I fixed the missing main menu icon in DSM 7.2-64570 Update 3 and PMS 1.32.7.7621 by editing /var/packages/PlexMediaServer/target/ui/config
I had to replace this:
"allUsers": true,
"grantPrivilege": "all",
"advanceGrantPrivilege": true
with this:
"allUsers": true
So you disabled the mechanism entirely.
That’s not how it’s done.
If you go through the DSM control. “Grant for all users” (as admin) turns it back on.
With your modification, the next PMS install will revert on you
In spite of the benefits this brings for many of the users (requested), I’m seriously considering removing the capability.
DSM not defaulting to “All Users: True” is the problem here.
PlexMediaServer does not appear in DSM → Control Panel → Application Privileges for me.
