I am really disappointed how the people at plex seem to be destroying plex. Things that were working flawless, stop working. Last month or so plex just decided it isn’t going to download movie posters. I check the forum, it’s a known issue, yet it doesn’t seem to be addresed at all by the plex people. Meanwhile, crappy beta things like podcast and web shows keep getting added. The On Deck feature of the podcasts is completely useless. You have to click about 100 things just to see your unplayed podcasts in order from oldest to newest. Half of the popular podcasts don’t even show up in a search, the only way to get them in Plex is to import a list from your previous podcast application. This isn’t a beta feature, it’s a joke.
I think there are only 3 actual web show channels, and they all are geared towards the masses and their pathetic desire to cook crappy food and watch popular actors talk about their latest movie.
It is so sad that Plex has stopped caring about the basic features working correctly and focused so much on adding half-assed features like podcasts and web shows.
Plex was originally used and became popular by people creating large media libraries of their own. Now it is gearing towards satisfying the needs of the corporate media giants.
I am waiting for plex to add Facebook, Netflix and YouTube. What a sad day that will be. Ironically the people at plex will celebrate and send out an email explaining how great at it is that there is now Beta versions of facebook, netflix and YouTube on Plex…
… They just won’t mention how half of it doesn’t even work.
If you haven’t paid for the VIP membership, don’t do it. I am disappointed that I did. Right after I did, they started ruining it.
Now go fix the movie poster issues, Plex, and get off the phone with Mark Zuckerberg.
