Plex Is Killing My Data From A Home Network

My family watches lots of movies from my home entertainment.

For the record, I used Nvidia Shield to watch my movies in 4K and atmos. I’m having very weak internet connection right now. Plex may have cause my ISP completely slow my internet. Apparently, Plex used my internet data as if I was streaming from Netflix though my network is wired. Yes, my internet connection is bad right now but I can access all the movies from my home servers from any computers in the house and directly watch any movies using vlc, Zoom player , or other player. Plex will not connect unless my internet is very fast. Because of Plex, it’s like I’m streaming Terabytes daily as my ISP sees it.

My severs, computers, Nvidia Shield are all connected through my router. I can stream wirelessly but basically, my network is wired. Why Plex has to behave as if my sever is in another state.

It is ridiculous.

If I don’t have internet access, I understand, for that time, I wouldn’t enjoy the benefit of having a Plex Pass. But it shouldn’t stop working unless I have internet access. My internet is like the old dial up days. And I want Plex to work in the meantime
