I thought I would bring this thread to the top under General Discussions as I am not getting any response from the original developer (pombeirp) that was assisting but for one reason or another has decided stop helping me. I do not fault him as I to would be pulling my hair out to do deal with me. Sorry, I see things in a different light than probably the majority of Plex users. Maybe I am a little more sensitive to software that I have not been able to use for nearly 4 or 5 months. When I say “have not been able to use” I mean at least 90% of the time. I may be short fused at times but that is out of my own frustration and again I maybe a bit more sensitive than others.
Plex for Windows 10 Phone/Mobile has been a horrible experience for me and others. I know there are a lucky few but that does not elevate Plex that there are still issues that others still are having. Maybe Plex does not like to play well with other apps. A possibility. Do not get me wrong Plex is still my “Goto” for everything I have for media. I have it installed on every device in my house, iOS, Windows 10 laptops/desktops, Rokus, Android, Xbox, etc… All of which I do not really have many issues with.
Ok so, you say that Windows 10 Phone/Mobile is to blame? Fair enough, lets point that virtual finger at Microsoft. So now we have Emby, Kodi, XBMC, Pandora, Spotify, Slacker, Netflix, Groove, VLC, MediaBox, etc. None of which I have as many issue with as I do with Plex on Windows 10 Phone/Mobile if at all. I was told that Plex uses the built-in media agent to play back audio and video and this is the reason for all of their issues hence why they are pointing the virtual finger at Microsoft. Ok, again, fair enough. Then build your own media agent. I was told by pombeirp that Pandora does not use the built-in media agent and relies on its own for audio play back. So we could assume that my laundry list of other media apps are to use there own media agent hence whey they do not have as many issue as Plex for Windows 10 Phone/Mobile does.
However, MovieFan.Plex has deiced to jump in and help. Thank you MediaFan.Plex. I will continue to work with MediaFan.Plex to see if we can come to an actual solution instead of the band-aid approach. I post this bit here so that everyone with Windows 10 Mobile/Phones is aware.
